How RenoMe works

Everything that happens, for both sides, and what it costs. No fine print.

For homeowners

From your project to a real quote

Seven steps, and you're in charge of every one.

  1. Download RenoMe and choose Homeowner.

It's free. Real estate agents and store owners pick their own account type.

  2. Post your project.

Choose the room, the scope, the timeline and the finish level (standard, high-end or luxury), and add photos. You can also record a walkthrough video of up to 60 seconds; contractors can watch it before they call.

  3. Request a call, or pick a contractor.

Request a call and contractors who cover your borough are notified; the first one who accepts calls you inside the app. Or browse profiles, look for the green shield and send your project to the contractor you like.

  4. Meet on live video.

Video or voice, inside the app. Walk them through the space and ask anything. You don't have to give out your phone number.

  5. One at a time.

When the call ends, you decide if and when the next contractor calls. Nobody else calls you in the meantime.

  6. Get your quote.

It arrives in the app with the cost breakdown and the payment schedule. Accept it or decline it.

  7. Pay your contractor directly.

RenoMe never handles your project money. Sign a written contract before work starts, as NYC's consumer agency advises.

For contractors

From a project request to a sent quote

More for contractors. En español.

  1. Download RenoMe and choose Contractor.

Use your cell number: login codes may not arrive on Google Voice numbers.

  2. Build your profile.

Trade, specialties, the boroughs you cover, photos of your work and a short intro video. For the green shield, verify your license in the app: Settings, then Trade license verification.

  3. Get project requests.

You're notified about projects in your boroughs and see the photos and video first. Homeowners can also send you their project from your profile.

  4. Accept and call.

The call happens inside the app. Your first connected call with a homeowner on a project is the one that counts for the connection fee, and right now there is no fee.

  5. Send your quote.

From the app, with a cost breakdown and a payment schedule. The homeowner pays you directly.

Free right now. When connection fees start: $25, $50 or $100 depending on the tier (Standard, High-End, Luxury), charged once per project and only when your first call with that homeowner connects. Later calls on the same project are free, and any project you connect on while it's free never pays a connection fee. A 2.5% platform fee will also apply to projects whose quote is accepted after that fee starts. We'll tell you before fees start.

If a call drops within seconds because of a technical problem, write to support@renome.app and we refund the connection fee.

Your privacy on calls

  • Calls and messages run inside the app, so nobody needs your phone number to talk to you.
  • Before you accept a quote, the contractor sees your name and your project details.
  • Your home address, phone number and email are shared with a contractor only after you accept their quote.
  • RenoMe doesn't record calls, and nobody may record a call without everyone's written consent.

Full details: Privacy Policy and Terms.

What RenoMe is, and isn't

RenoMe connects you with independent contractors. RenoMe doesn't do the work, employ the contractors or guarantee their work. So look for the green shield, ask for a certificate of insurance and sign a written contract.

See it for yourself.
